Tower Hamlets has a long history of welcoming and supporting newly arrived migrants, refugees and asylum seekers. In recent times, refugees from Syria and Afghanistan have resettled within the borough, and now people from Ukraine are in need of support, via the Homes for Ukraine Sponsorship Scheme.
However, some migrants and asylum seekers are have No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF), meaning that they cannot claim certain benefits until they have obtained a permanent settled status or have naturalised as citizens.
- How are local groups working to support those with NRPF?
- Is your faith or community setting involved in supporting refugees?
- Are you involved with the Homes for Ukraine Sponsorship?
