While the cost-of-living crisis is affecting effecting everyone in the UK, women, and specifically ethnically diverse women, families with children and disabled people are disproportionately impacted because poverty rates are significantly higher in this group, making it harder to meet the rising cost of living. The same group of people that struggled throughout the pandemic are once again seeing a major strain on their budgets.
This gathering will aim to address, discuss, and share our concerns, as women living in Tower Hamlets, and see what strategies need to be in place to address these issues in this challenging time. The Women’s Network is trying to secure a representative of the council to attend this gathering to listen to our worries and let us know what help will be available from the council.
