Young women and girls are at risk of domestic abuse, sexual violence and harassment on the streets and in their homes. We’re on a mission to make London a safe place for everyone.
In London, the threat of violence against women and girls has been magnified. As we remember Sarah Everard, Sabina Nessa, Bibaa Henry and Nicole Smallman, and the countless other women who have lost their lives to male violence, it is vital that we come together to end violence and make sure every woman and girl is safe in our city.
Our International Women’s Day event will put young women’s safety firmly back on the agenda, coming together with other vital organisations and changemakers to discuss how we can make London a safer city for every women and girl.
Event:
Wednesday 9th March 2022 | Rich Mix, 35-37 Bethnal Green Road, E1 6LA
- Exhibition featuring artwork from survivors supported by Solace.
- Panel discussion with inspiring changemakers on the theme of young women’s safety.

“It’s such an honour to join Solace for International Women’s Day 2022, I am thrilled to be hosting an event with so many brave and inspiring women. Every year we mark the day by sharing stories and challenging the inequalities we face – this year we have been forced to address the growing threat of violence against women and girls in London. We are haunted by the rise in cases, some have made headlines but too many women still suffer in silence. It’s time to magnify their voices and put women’s safety back on the agenda. ” – Zara Janjua
