Panel Discussion: Intersectionality of Bisexuality and Mental Health

Panel Discussion: Intersectionality of Bisexuality and Mental Health

Thursday 19 May / 6:00 to 7:30pm

LGBT+ people overall are at significantly higher risk of experiencing common mental health problems than the general population – and within the LGBT+ community, people who identify as bisexual have significantly higher rates than their Lesbian and Gay counterparts. Why is that, and what can we do to change that situation?

To mark International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia we will hear from speakers Sian Jones (Co-Chair of London Bisexual Network), Lauren Steele (Tower Hamlets LGBT Community Forum at elop), and David Halliday (Community Suicide Prevention Hub at Mind in Tower Hamlets & Newham), to discuss bi phobia and bi erasure, and the impact on the mental health experiences of bi people.
