
Harm Reduction – Monday 19th September 2022 1pm to 3pm
This session is aimed at supporting local partners to gain an understanding of what Harm Reduction is and how we rely on this in support services to help keep people as safe as possible
The session is designed to be accessed by all staff from various community agencies and groups including:
- Mental Health
- Adult and Child Social Care
- Housing
- Probation/DIP/Community Safety
- Hostels
- Primary Care
- Employment and Education Services
- Local Community Groups
By the end of the workshop you will have some basic understanding of:
- What Harm Reduction is
- The physical, psychological and social impact of delivering harm reduction interventions
- Blood Borne Viruses, Needle Exchange, Overdose Prevention, Safer Sex
- Specific harms associated with drugs and alcohol and appropriate interventions
- Legal considerations
- What support options are available locally and nationally
- How to refer individuals into treatment for support to reduce harm in Tower Hamlets
