Alcohol Training Presentation

Alcohol – Monday 21st February 2022 1pm to 3pm

 This session is aimed at supporting local partners to gain an understanding of what problematic alcohol use looks like, it’s impact and associated risks, physically, mentally and socially. Alongside this, we will identify and explore support options available.

The session is designed to be accessed by all staff from various community agencies and groups including:

  • Mental Health
  • Adult and Child Social Care
  • Housing
  • Probation/DIP/Community Safety
  • Hostels
  • Primary Care
  • Employment and Education Services
  • Local Community Groups 

By the end of the workshop you will have some basic understanding of:

  • Alcohol and reasons for its use
  • The difference between normal, hazardous and harmful drinking
  • The signs of alcohol dependency and alcohol withdrawal
  • The physical, psychological and social effects associated with alcohol
  • What support options are available locally and nationally
  • How to refer individuals into treatment for alcohol related issues in Tower Hamlets
