September has kicked off with lots of new or reinvigorated projects at St Hilda’s East!
BCLP Legal Clinic: The clinic started again on 17th August and is being run as a drop-in only service at Sonali Gardens from 6-8pm on Wednesdays. The Club Row MacFarlanes clinic isn’t restarting until November.
Advice & Guidance: The Advice service is expanding to a 5-day week with a Friday advice drop-in at Sonali Gardens and will be recruiting more volunteers to help deal with more enquiries coming in as the cost-of-living crisis brings more need. The first session will be on Friday 23rd Sept.
Under 5’s: The beautifully refurbished Play Space will be offering the usual Stay & Play sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays, as well as new sensory development sessions in the sensory room on Fridays – starting next week. These are open to all, but we’ll be especially helpful for children with any developmental needs.
Food Co-op: An exciting development is that the co-op is launching a new membership scheme next week, so that those who can afford it can contribute to help keep the price down for those who need it. There’s a QR code for those who wish to join.
Women’s Co-op: The Creative Women’s Co-operative offers the chance for women in the local community to be encouraged and supported to delve into their creativity and produce products that could potentially lead to a business idea/opportunity. St. Hilda’s East offer; creative activities, enterprise training, FREE yoga classes, social sessions and a complimentary crèche for women who require childcare. This is a very special opportunity that has been created by women, for women. Yoga kicks off on 22nd Sept!
