Take part in the Festival of Communities 2023

Posted on 24 January24 January by Tracy Allen

Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 June

The Festival of Communities is returning on the weekend of 10-11 June, taking place in Stepney Green Park on the Saturday and the Queen Mary Mile End Campus on the Sunday, and the call for activities is now open!

Exploring living and learning together in Tower Hamlets, the Festival of Communities is a collaboration between Queen Mary and local-based organisations, and over 8000 residents joined us over the weekend last year.

The activities at the Festival are designed for local families to learn something new or try something different. These varied activities range from hands-on experiments, sharing stories and views, interacting with demonstrations and trying out new things.

Queen Mary are looking for projects to take part by designing and running their own hands-on activity.

The Centre for Public Engagement team at Queen Mary are on hand to offer advice on your engagement activity design through Festival information webinars, 1:1 advice sessions and a ‘How to design a Festival of Communities activity’ workshop.
There is also a funding opportunity for community organisations to apply for up to £200 to cover some of the costs of taking part and delivering an activity over the Festival weekend.

The Festival call to pitch your Festival activity idea and the funding opportunity closes at the end of day on 30th March.

Visit the Festival website for all the details.
