Free Workshops for Women on Offer – Solace Women’s Aid

Solace Women’s Aid’s Labyrinth Project is pleased to offer three new free workshops for service users on a range of priority topics for women, including helping a friend who is experiencing abuse in her relationship, stress and wellbeing and women’s safety.

These informative workshops provide women a friendly and supportive space to discuss the topics above and could be run as part of an existing programme, during a coffee morning or in any other virtual or in-person format.

Workshop 1: Help a Friend
Helping a friend in an abusive relationship can be really tough for you as well as them. Abuse is often very complex to both identify and navigate safely. This session will help women learn about signs, best ways to respond, how to support safely and where to get help.

Workshop 2: Safe and Secure
We’ll create a safe space to discuss safety tips for women in public and online spaces and
look at apps, safety hubs and other effective technological solutions. We’ll also learn about how to make our devices safer and how to protect our privacy and whereabouts online.

Workshop 3:
What happens in the brain when we get stressed? What is the fight or flight response? How can we bring the body back to a balanced state? We’ll learn to understand how stress affects our mind and body and practise techniques to help the body relax.
