RESET: Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing – Monday 12 December / 1pm to 3pm

This session is aimed at supporting local partners to gain an understanding of how RESET uses Motivational Interviewing (MI) to engage constructively with those we help and how this psychosocial intervention can be implemented when helping to motivate others towards change.

The session is designed to be accessed by all staff from various community agencies and groups including:

·        Mental Health

·        Adult and Child Social Care

·        Housing

·        Probation/DIP/Community Safety

·        Hostels

·        Primary Care

·        Employment and Education Services

·        Local Community Groups

By the end of the presentation, you will have some basic understanding of:

·        Who RESET are and what we do

·        MI and its origins as an intervention

·        Some principles, processes and philosophies associated with MI and its key concepts

·        MI and it’s main benefits as an intervention

·        Strategies and techniques for using MI in practice

·        How to refer individuals into treatment for support in Tower Hamlets
