Tower Hamlets Council’s Arts, Parks and Events Team are keen to support a programme of events for Black History Month this coming October. After a year like no other, we expect 2021 to feature a mixture of online and live events. We are pleased to confirm that East End Community Foundation (EECF) have agreed to fast track BHM applications for the July 19th Tower Hamlets Small Grants deadline so there is still time to apply.
Please go to https://eastendcf.org/tower-hamlets-grants/
Representatives from EECF as well as council officers and those from other organisations will be available to offer advice and answer questions. This is an opportunity to find out more about how to plan your event, how to find venues and partners, how best to meet the specific funding criteria, what support for applications is available, and how we can help with marketing and promotion.
Speakers include:
• Awo Ahmed, LBTH, Programme Assessment and Monitoring Officer,
• Alison Denning, LBTH Arts, Parks and Events
• Stuart Grey, LBTH Arts, Parks and Events
• Karen Hubbard, LBTH Arts, Parks and Events
• Halima Khanom, LBTH, Tower Hamlets Local History Library and Archives
• Representative, Limehouse Project (Tower Hamlets BAME Network)
• Paige Murphy, East End Community Foundation
• Beth Watton, Poplar Union
If you would like to be part of this year’s programme, do be aware that all activities must take place within Tower Hamlets. Organisations based elsewhere with a pre-scheduled programme relevant to Black History Month are welcome to arrange offshoot or outreach activities in the borough as a way of making links and reaching out to wider communities.
