GamCare is an independent charity and they are the leading provider of information, advice and support for anyone affected by problem gambling across England, Scotland and Wales. They offer a wide menu of free, flexible and confidential support to those affected by gambling harms.
They operate the National Gambling Helpline, provide treatment for problem gamblers and their families, create awareness about responsible gambling and treatment, and encourage an effective approach to responsible gambling within the gambling industry.
GamCare will be delivering a rolling training programme for Tower Hamlets during 2022. This training will look at gambling related harm in regard to:
- How problematic gambling occurs, and what it looks like
- The differences between the way women and men gamble and the different barriers they face when accessing support
- The impacts of problematic gambling on the gambler, and any affected others
- What you can do to support people affected by gambling-related harm
