Economic abuse is a very prevalent type of domestic abuse, yet is not often talked about or recognised. It can be hard to identify the signs of economic abuse and to know what to do when someone tells you what they are going through, but knowing how to respond can make all the difference. This course will help you develop your understanding of what economic abuse is, what it looks like and how to respond, so you can be a vital source of support for survivors.
Course content
You will learn:
- What are economic abuse, financial abuse and financial exclusion
- How economic abuse impacts on survivors and the barriers to reporting and disclosing abuse
- How to spot signs of abuse, support disclosures of abuse and access to ongoing services
This course will take place online, over 3 hours.
