Are you interested in the natural world that surrounds us, its trees, plants and its biodiversity? If so, come and join an exciting 8-week Green Horticulture Skills training course based at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park’s Build East training centre.
LLDC working with Build East, Future Gardeners and Idverde have designed a training programme for people from the Growth Boroughs to discover a range of opportunities in the horticulture sector. There are apprenticeship and job opportunities with other partners and trainees will have the chance to meet employers from the sector.
Caring for parks and greenspaces in a busy urban environment is important for local communities, supporting nature positive, fighting climate change and making the places we live sustainable and healthy. In completing the course, you will gain a formal qualification as well as the knowledge and training you will need to find a job in horticulture or landscape management. The programme is delivered by Build East in partnership with Future Gardeners and is fully funded for all participants.
- The training course is based on the innovative Future Gardeners training and work experience scheme and will give participants the core skills to gain entry level jobs in the horticulture industry. You don’t need previous experience or specialist education.
- It is open to people living within the 4 Growth Boroughs (Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets & Waltham Forest).
As well as pre-apprenticeship training and a City & Guilds qualification, the budding horticulturists will have their career options enhanced by being introduced to key employers in the sector.
