Roj Women’s Association are deeply saddened by the loss of life and devastation caused by the earthquakes that hit southeast Turkey on Monday, the 6th of February at 04:17. With a magnitude of 7.8, the earthquake has been recorded as the highest since 1999 in Turkey.
While the aftermath of this tragic event is still being assessed, we know that thousands of buildings have collapsed, and the death toll is rising.
Aftershock earthquakes are continuously hitting the region while the weather conditions are presenting additional challenges.
As Roj Women, we are extending our sympathy and condolences to all who have lost loved ones or have been affected by this tragic earthquake. We are launching the Roj Emergency Relief Campaign to support civil society organizations that are providing immediate help and support to the people affected by the earthquake.
