Finance & Operations Officer

We are looking for an Finance & Operations Officer role to work with everyone in the organisation, including the trustee board, to help improve and implement organisational systems during the next phase of our development. This is an exciting role for someone who wants to get involved with all aspects of running a charity, including finance, governance and operations.

• • Salary: £35,000pa pro rata  

• • Contract: Part time (21 hours per week), for one year (with potential to be extended, subject to funding) 

• • Hours: 3 days a week (21 hours)

The questions: 

1. 1. Tell us why you want this role and what makes you think you’d be good at it?  
   2. Can you give an example of a time when you have implemented or improved an organisational system, and what the impact of that was? 
   3. Could you let us know what the most important considerations are when processing financial transactions (e.g. processing invoices, running finance reports, budgeting).  

These questions are the most important part of the application. We want you to answer the questions authentically and in a way that explains to us how you meet the person specification. If you haven’t done exactly what we are asking for but think you have demonstrated the skills you’d need somewhere else in your life, mention that too.   

The best way to ensure your application scores well is to use the star technique to give us specific examples. STAR stands for:
