London City Airport has launched a brand-new Community Fund that could benefit organisations across East London and wider.
Grants for the new fund will range from £300 to £3,000 and will be available to local charities and not-for-profit organisations enabling significant and positive change for our local communities.
Prospective recipients can submit their application from 22nd May 2019 and these will remain open on an ongoing basis, with the board of Trustees meeting four times a year to assess and make award decisions. If you would like to apply for the Grant, please ensure you submit application before the deadline.
The London City Airport Community Fund concentrates on East London Boroughs of Barking & Dagenham, Bexley, Epping Forest District Council, Greenwich, Hackney, Havering, Newham, Lambeth, Lewisham, Redbridge, Southwark, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest.
This Fund builds on the success of the 30th anniversary £30K Community Fund, where 15 recipients received grants up to £3,000.
How it works
Applications are considered four times a year by a board of Trustees from London City Airport and representatives from the local community, as well as an independent chair. This means that with great local insight and expertise, the Trustees evaluate applications using their knowledge to ensure the greatest possible benefit goes to the community.
To qualify for any of the available Grant you will have to be a charity or not for profit organisation and your project is expected to adhere to the following criteria’s; London City Airports’ community focus areas to improve the quality of life in local communities by either:
- Building stronger, safer and healthier communities
- Creating more sustainable and greener communities
- Raising aspirations of East Londoners
- Creating pathways into employment
