Having a good governance is essential for a charity success.

Charity Governance Code is a useful tool for Charities and their trustees to develop and improve their governance.

The code has been reviewed, developed, promoted and maintained by the Charity Governance Code Steering group, a cross-sector collaboration with an independent chair, Rosie Chapman.

The steering group’s members are:

ACEVO: Charity Leaders Network
Association of Chairs
ICSA: The Governance Institute
NCVO: National Council for Voluntary Organisations
Small Charities Coalition
WCVA: Wales Council for Voluntary Action.

The Charity Commission is an observer on the group.

The steering group’s latest revision of the Code has been funded by The Clothworkers’ Company and the Barrow Cadbury Trust.
