Event Fund – Quarter 2 applications now open.

With the introduction of the Local Community Fund from October 2019, the Event Fund and all other Tower Hamlets small grants programmes will cease to exist as separate funds.

Applications to the final round of the Event Fund can still be made for events taking place from July to September, including community focused events as part of this summer’s Big Lunch (1-2 June) or Great Get Together (21 – 23 June) initiatives. Application forms can be accessed via www.towerhamlets.gov.uk/arts 

Application deadline is: Midday - 4 April for July to September events and Big Lunch & Great Get Together.

Small grants available for Big Lunch and Great Get Together street parties and community celebrations

Two nationwide initiatives are taking place this June which both encourage us to get to know our neighbours. The Council is offering small grants of up to £250 for community celebrations and residents Street Parties as part of the Big Lunch on 1 & 2 June, and the Great Get Together on 21, 22 & 23 June. Applications for funding will need to be made via the website using the Event Fund up to £500 application form however the maximum award will be £250. The deadline for submitting completed funding applications is Midday Thursday 4th April 2019. Application forms can be accessed via www.towerhamlets.gov.uk/arts

Street parties – Big Lunch and Great Get Together

If you are planning a street party, you may also need to apply to close the road and will need to seek permission to hold your event from the landowner. Deadlines for street party applications (road closures) for events taking place on Tower Hamlets land or public highway are Midday 19th April for the Big Lunch and Midday 10th May for the Great Get Together.
