Brexit

We, THCVS, have been asked to give evidence on behalf of the not for profit sector at the next hearing of the Tower Hamlets Brexit Commission on how Brexit is impacting the local Voluntary Sector in Tower Hamlets, and how it might impact in the future. The Local Authority is collecting evidence from residents, businesses and the voluntary sector via a survey on their website but we would like collate your stories and how you have been affected in order to deliver a comprehesive and coherent picture of how the VCS in Tower Hamlets are being impacted by Brexit.

If you have been affected in any way by Brexit we need to hear from you - please complete the online survey we have created by clicking here

Deadline to submit written submissions as evidence to the Brexit Commission is 5pm Wednesday 21st November but our presentation will be delivered at the next Commission Meeting on Tuesday 27th November.

We are especially looking for information about any of the impacts listed below

Funding – eg have you lost (or gained) funding which you attribute to Brexit, do you currently get EU funding, are you concerned your EU funding may end?
Workload – eg have you had more Brexit based enquiries eg immigration, how many extra cases have you seen?
Workforce –eg  have you lost staff/volunteers, are they planning to leave or are worried as a result of Brexit?
Tax & legislative freedoms – eg could moving out of the single market and customs union allow the UK to manage Tax  rates more favourably or worse?
Legal implication – eg do you, your staff, volunteers, clients have concerns about moving away from EU Law, eg losing equality rights for EU residents?
