This is a chance to consi der the relationship between race and gender\, consider what further actio n is needed\, and shape our aspirations for a better future for Black\, As ian and Minority Ethnic women.\n\nAttendees will be able to engage in a pa nel discussion and hear from inspirational and successful Black\, Asian an d Minority Ethnic women. You will have the opportunity to ask questions\, learn about their journeys into positions of leadership\, and consider the key role of allies.\n\nWe will also be launching a women’s leadership p rogramme which aims to empower women and provide them with the skills and confidence to become community leaders. Attendees will also have the oppor tunity to speak with leaders from organisations across the borough and acc ess opportunities for mentoring\, work experience\, and further training a nd support.\n\nThe event is being chaired by Councillor Asma Begum\, Deput y Mayor and Chair of the Black\, Asian and Minority Ethnic Inequalities Co mmission.\n\nSpeakers:\n\n• Dr Vanessa Apea\, Consultant Physician -BART s Health NHS Trust\n\n• Remi Atoyebi\,Headteacher - -Osmani Primary Scho ol\n\n• Dr Halima Begum\, Chief Executive Officer -The Runnymede Trust\n \n• Payal Vasudeva\, Human Capital Partner in Deloitte’s Financial Ser vices Practice – Leads on Future of Work in the market.\n\nPlease note:\ n\nWe are excited to be hosting this and that it can be an in-person event . We recognise that there are difficulties connected to in-person events a nd Covid-19 so we are doing our best to make everyone feel comfortable.
