This offer is part of a wider initiative for pr omotion of mental health and prevention of associated issues.\n\nStaff are invited to sign up to one or both of the following 2-hour modules on offe r\, both delivered by WAVE Trust:\n\n Module A: Understanding trauma (thi s page)\n Module B: Implementing trauma-informed practice (see here)\n\n All participants who wish to receive a CPD certificate will need to fill i n the post-training form sent after your training session. You may request to be excluded from filling out this form\, and to have your CPD certific ate processed regardless\, if you wish to by emailing Aidan Phillips at ap hillips@wavetrust.org. If you do not fill out the form or request to be ex cluded\, we cannot guarantee you will receive a CPD certificate.\n\n \ ;\n\nWhat will I learn during Module A?\n\nModule A will result in you hav ing a good understanding of the following areas:\n\n What Adverse Childho od Experiences (ACEs) are\, and their later life outcomes\n Introduction to brain development and trauma\n The importance of attunement and attach ment\, and how both develop\n Experiences that can cause trauma\n Immedi ate and long-term impact of trauma on behavioural\, health and other outco mes\n The role of PTSD and FASD in behaviour\n Vicarious and secondary t rauma\n What trauma does to a person’s worldview\n How trauma and fear affect a person’s interactions with authority\n What protective factor s are and how they help us to build resilience\n The importance of a rela tionship with a key adult\n Breaking the intergenerational cycle of adver sity\n\n \;\n\nAdditional support\n\nAll participants will have the op portunity to:\n\n Attend one of our end-of-month Q&\;A sessions to rai se points and queries they didn't have the chance to share during the trai ning sessions. Join the group here.\n Submit a request t o partake in one of two 'Trauma Champions' training sessions we'll be hold ing in March and June 2022. A Trauma-informed Champion supports their serv ice in whatever way they can to ensure they successfully adopt and maintai n a Trauma-informed culture.
