If it s till doesn't work\, contact Angela Burns at angela.burns@towerhamlets.gov. uk.\n\nBetween November 2021 and June 2022\, WAVE Trust is pleased to be w orking with Tower Hamlets Public Health Team to offer free CPD-accredited Trauma-informed practice training to frontline workforces supporting resid ents across the borough. This offer is part of a wider initiative for prom otion of mental health and prevention of associated issues.\n\nStaff are i nvited to sign up to one or both of the following 2-hour modules on offer\ , both delivered by WAVE Trust:\n\n Module A: Understanding trauma (see  here)\n Module B: Implementing trauma-informed practice (this page)\n\nAl l participants who wish to receive a CPD certificate will need to fill in the post-training form sent after your training session. You may request t o be excluded from filling out this form\, and to have your CPD certificat e processed regardless\, if you wish to by emailing Aidan Phillips at aphi llips@wavetrust.org. If you do not fill out the form or request to be excl uded\, we cannot guarantee you will receive a CPD certificate.\n\n \;\ n\nWhat will I learn during Module B?\n\nModule B will result in you havin g a good understanding of the following areas:\n\n Why implement Trauma-i nformed practice and its potential impacts\n Principles underpinning Trau ma-informed practice (drawing upon SAMHSA’s model)\n Trauma-informed la nguage\, behaviour and reactions\n How trauma behaviour looks from a prov ider’s perspective\n How to respond to produce positive outcomes\n How to identify how aspects of service delivery could become trauma-informed\ n How to implement trauma-informed practice throughout them\n Tools and materials to support implementation\n The importance of discussing advers ities with service users\n Ensuring effective support for staff (inc with vicarious/secondary trauma)\n Self-care strategies for working with trau matised people and/or in stressful environments\n How to avoid re-traumat isation\n How to enhance prevention efforts\n Successful examples of tra uma-informed practice\n\n \;\n\nAdditional support\n\nAll participants will have the opportunity to:\n\n Attend one of our end-of-month Q&\; A sessions to raise points and queries they didn't have the chance to shar e during the training sessions. Join the group here.\n S ubmit a request to partake in one of two 'Trauma Champions' training sessi ons we'll be holding in March and June 2022. A Trauma-informed Champion su pports their service in whatever way they can to ensure they successfully adopt and maintain a Trauma-informed culture.
