This offer is part of a wider initiative for pr omotion of mental health and prevention of associated issues.\n\nStaff are invited to sign up to one or both of the following 2-hour modules on offe r\, both delivered by WAVE Trust:\n\n Module A: Understanding trauma (see  here)\n Module B: Implementing trauma-informed practice (this page)\n\n All participants who wish to receive a CPD certificate will need to fill i n the post-training form sent after your training session. You may request to be excluded from filling out this form\, and to have your CPD certific ate processed regardless\, if you wish to by emailing Aidan Phillips at ap hillips@wavetrust.org. If you do not fill out the form or request to be ex cluded\, we cannot guarantee you will receive a CPD certificate.\n\n \ ;\n\nWhat will I learn during Module B?\n\nModule B will result in you hav ing a good understanding of the following areas:\n\n Why implement Trauma -informed practice and its potential impacts\n Principles underpinning Tr auma-informed practice (drawing upon SAMHSA’s model)\n Trauma-informed language\, behaviour and reactions\n How trauma behaviour looks from a pr ovider’s perspective\n How to respond to produce positive outcomes\n H ow to identify how aspects of service delivery could become trauma-informe d\n How to implement trauma-informed practice throughout them\n Tools an d materials to support implementation\n The importance of discussing adve rsities with service users\n Ensuring effective support for staff (inc wi th vicarious/secondary trauma)\n Self-care strategies for working with tr aumatised people and/or in stressful environments\n How to avoid re-traum atisation\n How to enhance prevention efforts\n Successful examples of t rauma-informed practice\n\n \;\n\nAdditional support\n\nAll participan ts will have the opportunity to:\n\n Attend one of our end-of-month Q& \;A sessions to raise points and queries they didn't have the chance to sh are during the training sessions. Join the group here.\n Submit a request to partake in one of two 'Trauma Champions' training ses sions we'll be holding in March and June 2022. A Trauma-informed Champion supports their service in whatever way they can to ensure they successfull y adopt and maintain a Trauma-informed culture.
