 14:00 - 17:00\n\nThis session provides an introduction to eating disorders
  and disordered eating in adults\, aiming to increase awareness and unders
 tanding.\n\nDelivered by a trainer with lived experience of eating disorde
 rs\, it provides insight into the challenges associated with recovery and 
 guidance on how to make sense of disordered eating and it’s function for
  the individual. The session is aimed broadly at anyone with an interest i
 n learning more about these issues.\n\n**Course is open to all health and 
 social care\, and wider public sector workforce in North East London. Limi
 ted numbers apply early. Joining instructions will be send 48 hours prior 
 to delivery date**\n\nThe following topics are included in the session:\n\
 n• Grounding eating disorders in fact: addressing myths and misconceptio
 ns\n\n• The spectrum of eating behavior and eating disorder diagnoses.\n
 \n• Understanding the function of an eating disorder\n\n• Weight stigm
 a and its impact\n\n• Early intervention and barriers to accessing suppo
 rt\n\n• Person-centered care and support: what you can do to help\n\nTra
 iner bio – Katharine Lazenby\n\nKatharine Lazenby is mental health exper
 t by experience\, drawing on her lived experience of eating disorders\, ps
 ychiatric treatment and hospitalization. She is currently a Project Manage
 r at East London NHS Foundation Trust but has extensive experience as a me
 ntal health trainer within the public sector\, educator and public speaker
 . As a visiting scholar at London Southbank University\, she lectures on t
 he lived experience of eating disorders and psychologically informed envir
 onments. She sits on the board of directors for the Design in Mental Healt
 h Network and has spoken at a number of national conferences about her liv
 ed experience of mental health care and recovery. She is passionate about 
 the power and importance of centering lived experience in mental health ed
