DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\n\nMonday 20 March / 14:00 - 17:00\n\n\n\n\n\nThis sessi
 on provides an introduction to eating disorders and disordered eating in a
 dults\, aiming to increase awareness and understanding.\n\nDelivered by a 
 trainer with lived experience of eating disorders\, it provides insight in
 to the challenges associated with recovery and guidance on how to make sen
 se of disordered eating and it’s function for the individual. The sessio
 n is aimed broadly at anyone with an interest in learning more about these
  issues.\n\nThe following topics are included in the session:\n\n• Groun
 ding eating disorders in fact: addressing myths and misconceptions\n\n• 
 The spectrum of eating behavior and eating disorder diagnoses\n\n• Under
 standing the function of an eating disorder\n\n• Weight stigma and its i
 mpact\n\n• Early intervention and barriers to accessing support\n\n• P
 erson-centered care and support: what you can do to help\n\nTrainer bio 
 – Katharine Lazenby\n\nKatharine Lazenby is mental health expert by expe
 rience\, drawing on her lived experience of eating disorders\, psychiatric
  treatment and hospitalization. She is currently a Project Manager at East
  London NHS Foundation Trust but has extensive experience as a mental heal
 th trainer within the public sector\, educator and public speaker. As a vi
 siting scholar at London Southbank University\, she lectures on the lived 
 experience of eating disorders and psychologically informed environments. 
 She sits on the board of directors for the Design in Mental Health Network
  and has spoken at a number of national conferences about her lived experi
 ence of mental health care and recovery. She is passionate about the power
  and importance of centering lived experience in mental health education.\
