 n\n\n\nThis session provides an introduction to eating disorders and disor
 dered eating in adults\, aiming to increase awareness and understanding.\n
 \nDelivered by a trainer with lived experience of eating disorders\, it pr
 ovides insight into the challenges associated with recovery and guidance o
 n how to make sense of disordered eating and it’s function for the indiv
 idual. The session is aimed broadly at anyone with an interest in learning
  more about these issues.\n\nThe following topics are included in the sess
 ion:\n\n• Grounding eating disorders in fact: addressing myths and misco
 nceptions\n\n• The spectrum of eating behavior and eating disorder diagn
 oses\n\n• Understanding the function of an eating disorder\n\n• Weight
  stigma and its impact\n\n• Early intervention and barriers to accessing
  support\n\n• Person-centered care and support: what you can do to help\
 n\nTrainer bio – Katharine Lazenby\n\nKatharine Lazenby is mental health
  expert by experience\, drawing on her lived experience of eating disorder
 s\, psychiatric treatment and hospitalization. She is currently a Project 
 Manager at East London NHS Foundation Trust but has extensive experience a
 s a mental health trainer within the public sector\, educator and public s
 peaker. As a visiting scholar at London Southbank University\, she lecture
 s on the lived experience of eating disorders and psychologically informed
  environments. She sits on the board of directors for the Design in Mental
  Health Network and has spoken at a number of national conferences about h
 er lived experience of mental health care and recovery. She is passionate 
 about the power and importance of centering lived experience in mental hea
