 \n\n\n\nThis session provides an introduction to eating disorders and diso
 rdered eating in adults\, aiming to increase awareness and understanding.\
 n\nDelivered by a trainer with lived experience of eating disorders\, it p
 rovides insight into the challenges associated with recovery and guidance 
 on how to make sense of disordered eating and it’s function for the indi
 vidual. The session is aimed broadly at anyone with an interest in learnin
 g more about these issues.\n\nThe following topics are included in the ses
 sion:\n\n• Grounding eating disorders in fact: addressing myths and misc
 onceptions\n\n• The spectrum of eating behavior and eating disorder diag
 noses\n\n• Understanding the function of an eating disorder\n\n• Weigh
 t stigma and its impact\n\n• Early intervention and barriers to accessin
 g support\n\n• Person-centered care and support: what you can do to help
 \n\nTrainer bio – Katharine Lazenby\n\nKatharine Lazenby is mental healt
 h expert by experience\, drawing on her lived experience of eating disorde
 rs\, psychiatric treatment and hospitalization. She is currently a Project
  Manager at East London NHS Foundation Trust but has extensive experience 
 as a mental health trainer within the public sector\, educator and public 
 speaker. As a visiting scholar at London Southbank University\, she lectur
 es on the lived experience of eating disorders and psychologically informe
 d environments. She sits on the board of directors for the Design in Menta
 l Health Network and has spoken at a number of national conferences about 
 her lived experience of mental health care and recovery. She is passionate
  about the power and importance of centering lived experience in mental he
