SUMMARY:Understanding Disordered Eating in Adults
DESCRIPTION:Tuesday 11 October / 14:00 - 17:00\n\nMonday 17 October  / 14:
 00 - 17:00\n\nFriday 4 November/ 14:00 - 17:00\n\nThis session provides an
  introduction to eating disorders and disordered eating in adults\, aiming
  to increase awareness and understanding.\n\nDelivered by a trainer with l
 ived experience of eating disorders\, it provides insight into the challen
 ges associated with recovery and guidance on how to make sense of disorder
 ed eating and it’s function for the individual. The session is aimed bro
 adly at anyone with an interest in learning more about these issues.\n\n**
 Course is open to all health and social care\, and wider public sector wor
 kforce in North East London. Limited numbers apply early. Joining instruct
 ions will be send 48 hours prior to delivery date**\n\nThe following topic
 s are included in the session:\n\n• Grounding eating disorders in fact: 
 addressing myths and misconceptions\n\n• The spectrum of eating behavior
  and eating disorder diagnoses.\n\n• Understanding the function of an ea
 ting disorder\n\n• Weight stigma and its impact\n\n• Early interventio
 n and barriers to accessing support\n\n• Person-centered care and suppor
 t: what you can do to help\n\nTrainer bio – Katharine Lazenby\n\nKathari
 ne Lazenby is mental health expert by experience\, drawing on her lived ex
 perience of eating disorders\, psychiatric treatment and hospitalization. 
 She is currently a Project Manager at East London NHS Foundation Trust but
  has extensive experience as a mental health trainer within the public sec
 tor\, educator and public speaker. As a visiting scholar at London Southba
 nk University\, she lectures on the lived experience of eating disorders a
 nd psychologically informed environments. She sits on the board of directo
 rs for the Design in Mental Health Network and has spoken at a number of n
 ational conferences about her lived experience of mental health care and r
 ecovery. She is passionate about the power and importance of centering liv
