DESCRIPTION:Information open meeting: Wednesday 17 May / 6.00 to 7.00pm / 
 Brady Arts &amp\; Community Centre Hanbury Street\, E1 5HU\n\nDeadline for
  receipt of proposals: Monday 5 June @9am\n\n\n\nTower Hamlets Council is 
 supporting Black History Month (BHM) in October 2023 with commissioning op
 portunities. This is not a grant\; it is a commission for organisers to de
 liver standalone content for Black History Month on behalf of Tower Hamlet
 s Council.\n\nWe are seeking proposals for community-focused\, cultural\, 
 arts\, and heritage-based activities and events that celebrate Black histo
 ry\, arts and culture. We can offer commission fees of between £1000 and 
 £2000 (excluding VAT).\n\n(There is some flexibility with dates\, and we 
 can also consider events in last week of September / first week of Novembe
 r).\n\nKey Criteria\nPriority will be given to proposals which demonstrate
  the following:\n• Close alignment with Black history and culture\n• A
  strong focus on Black arts\, culture and heritage\n• Delivery by an org
 anisation either based in\, or with a strong connection to the borough (In
 dividuals will not be eligible for this commission but can work in partner
 ship with an organisation)\n• Events must take place within the borough\
 n• All projects must have participatory elements and demonstrate targeti
 ng and engagement with Tower Hamlets residents\n• Clear benefits to the 
 local community in Tower Hamlets e.g. through participation\, enjoyment\, 
 skills development\, tackling loneliness and isolation\, learning\, progre
 ssion routes etc\n• Innovation and value for money\n• All events and a
 ctivities must give consideration to accessibility and aim to reduce barri
 ers for participation\n• Target beneficiaries - making specific referenc
 e to your target beneficiaries and specify the methods you will use to rea
 ch them and how you will measure this.\n\nTimelines\nPlease complete the b
 elow form to give us details about your proposal. Please submit the form b
 elow by 9am\, Monday 5 June to blackhistorymonth@towerhamlets.gov.uk. If

 ve.\n\nPlease note\, the council will notify all organisations who have su
 bmitted a proposal to let them know whether they have been successful of n
 ot by close of business Friday 9 June.\n\nSuccessful commissions will need
  to adhere to certain terms and conditions including obtaining all necessa
 ry permissions (eg for publicity)\, venues and licenses. (Please email bl

 able to feed back on individual proposals.\n\nBlack History Month Open mee
