DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\n\n\nThe next event will be on Zoom on Wednesday 8th De
 cember from 6:00pm\n\nThe Mayor of London\, Sadiq Khan\, has invited Londo
 ners to have their say on his new draft Police and Crime Plan\, which sets
  out his priorities to make the capital a safer city\, and for Londoners t
 o feel safer.\n\nThe draft Plan sets out the Mayor’s commitment to ensur
 e London’s police service has the resources it needs to put more officer
 s on the streets to suppress violence\, including violence against women a
 nd girls\, and to respond to the demands and pressures of policing a capit
 al city. The Plan also outlines the action the Mayor is taking to continue
  to hold the Met to account\, ensuring all Londoners have trust and confid
 ence in their police force.\n\nFigures show that violence was falling in L
 ondon before the pandemic\, and over the past year knife crime\, youth vio
 lence and gun crime have come down further. Despite a decline in overall h
 omicides\, the number of teenage homicides in London has increased this ye
 ar. Continuing to drive down crime and prevent violence and the loss of yo
 ung lives is at the heart of the Mayor’s priorities for this term.\n\n\n
