Traditionally\, older people have been below the radar when it comes to domestic abuse and consequently\, research and policy has largely develop ed without them in mind. Within the 10-year Femicide Census 2009 to 2018 1 4% of women murdered by men were over 66 years of age. These are the femic ides so what about the hidden harmed?\n\nWhat we do know however is that o lder survivors are disproportionately at risk of serious harm\, with multi ple intersecting barriers.\n\nSo what does this mean for you as a practiti oner?\n\n\n\nCourse content\n\n\n\nIt can be hard to know what to do when someone tells you that they are experiencing domestic abuse\, but knowing how to respond can make all the difference.
