SUMMARY:Suicide Awareness and Prevention Training
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nThursday 23 March / 2.00 to 4.00pm\n\nThis 2-hour trainin
 g is suitable for anyone working with vulnerable clients or those interest
 ed in learning more about Suicide Prevention.\n\nDelegates will learn prac
 tical skills to improve confidence to provide support to someone who is fe
 eling suicidal. The training will also highlight the importance of listeni
 ng\, offers basic dos and don’ts\, and creates a rare and valuable oppor
 tunity to talk openly about suicide.\n\nAn understanding of the mental hea
 lth drivers that can cause suicidal thoughts will be gained\, along with l
 earning the ability to recognise the signs that someone may be feeling sui
 cidal early on. Finally\, the training will also provide people with the c
 onfidence to support other vulnerable people and reduce the risk of a suic
 ide attempt being made.\n\nThe learning outcomes achieved from this traini
 ng are:\n\n 	Increased understanding of suicide\n 	Skills to promote suppo
 rtive communication\n 	Increased awareness of the needs of a suicidal pers
 on\n 	Skills to effectively and confidently support a person at risk of su
