DESCRIPTION:Tuesday 29 November 2022\, 10.30am – 12.30pm\, on ZoomFREE fo
 r organisations with a base or projects in Tower Hamlets This practical\,
  interactive Peer Learning session will look at what organisations can do 
 to improve how they involve volunteers who have mental health issues. We w
 ill look at a wide range of good practice\, such as recruitment and outrea
 ch\, addressing barriers to volunteering\, encouraging people to be open a
 bout their mental health needs\, screening and matching them to the right 
 roles\, supporting volunteers after they have started\, adapting to meet v
 olunteers needs and supporting staff and other volunteers.  We will hear 
 from Richard Howlett\, Step Up Programme Manager at Volunteer Centre Hackn
 ey. Step Up is an innovative project that aims to support people with ment
 al health issues to access\, and sustain\, volunteering as part of their m
 ental health recovery. Richard will share their experience of working with
  volunteers and organisations\, including successes\, challenges and learn
 ing.  There will be plenty of opportunities to discuss experiences\, con
 cerns and solutions with peer Volunteer Managers in a safe and confidentia
 l environment.  This session is suitable for experienced Volunteer Manage
 rs as well as those who are new to managing volunteers.\n\nBook your place
