SUMMARY:Making Groups Work Training Course
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\nMAKING GROUPS WORK\n\n\n\nThis one-day course is aimed 
 at any professional or volunteer tasked with delivering group work regula
 rly in a community setting. It is specifically tailored for those running
  groups of service users who can be described as “hard to reach”.\nThe
  course is delivered in the following formats:\n\n\n 	\nSmall group discus
 sion\n\n 	\nGames and activities\n\n 	\nLarger group feedback \n\n 	\nAct
 ive participation\n\n\nCourse aims:\n\n\n 	\nTo facilitate participants’
  understanding of group development and delivery.\n\n 	\nTo enable partici
 pants to explore the challenges of facilitating a group.\n\n 	\nTo offer a
  range of solutions and examples of successful group delivery.\n\n\nCourse
  objectives:\n\n\n 	\nTo introduce participants to group theory\, and how 
 it relates to their own work with service users.\n\n 	\nTo present and use
  practical strategies to encourage engagement\, retention and involvement 
 in groups provided in the community.\n\n 	\nTo explore troubleshooting and
  issues within groups and identify solutions to common problems.\n\n\nAppr
 opriate participants:\nProfessionals and/or volunteers leading or supporti
 ng group work. This could include homeless support workers\, rehabilitati
 on workers\, youth workers\, those working or volunteering in community or
 ganisations such as Home Start and local charities delivering outreach wor
