 nWednesday 23 March 2022\, 10.30am -12.30pm\nFree session on Zoom\n\n\nWe 
 are delighted to welcome DBS representative\, Kiran Rehal\, Regional Outre
 ach Adviser (Greater London)\, to this session to talk about recent update
 s and changes to DBS (criminal record) checking\, to bust some common myth
 s about DBS checks and to answer any questions you might have.  The sessi
 on will cover:\n·         What types of DBS checks are available 
 and the eligibility of different kinds of volunteers roles\n·      
    How information is filtered on DBS certificates\n·         H
 ow “regulated activity” is defined\n·         The update serv
 ice\n·         How DBS procedures changed during the pandemic\, a
 nd what is happening with these going forward (e.g. checking ID using vide
 o links)\n·         What leads to an individual being added to th
 e “barred list”?\n·         When you have a duty to make a ba
 rring referral and how to make a good quality referral\n·        
  Lots of time for questions and answers\n\n\nThis session is suitable for 
 experienced Volunteer Managers as well as those who are new to managing vo
 lunteers.\n\nVenue: Zoom (the meeting link will be sent to you when your p
 lace is confirmed)\nPriority will be given to voluntary sector organisatio
 ns with a base/office in Tower Hamlets\, or that have services aimed at To
 wer Hamlets residents.\n\n\nCost: Our Peer Learning is kindly subsidised v
 ia a grant from the London Borough of Tower Hamlets (LBTH).  VCTH is comm
 itted to providing Peer Learning free-of-charge during the pandemic.  How
 ever\, we charge a £50 fee for late cancellations and no-shows to ensure
