SUMMARY:A Mental Health Summit for People in North East London
DESCRIPTION:Friday 23 September / 12.00pm to 3.00pm\n\nHow can we work toge
 ther across north east London to change things and improve our mental heal
 th?\n\nAlthough part of the day will be about reflecting on what has come 
 before\, the main focus will be to work together to create a vision of wha
 t a mental health care system shaped and led by people with lived experien
 ce could look and feel like.\n\nThe NEL Mental Health Summit will be an op
 portunity to share your experiences of mental health services with others\
 , to describe what mental health means to you and to ensure that learning 
 is made from where things could have been done better.\n\nAbove all\, we w
 ant you to take a leading role in making sure that real\, lasting improvem
 ents are put into action.\n\nWhether you have accessed mental health care 
 through NHS services\, social care or voluntary\, faith or charity organis
 ations\, we welcome you to attend!\n\nThe future of mental health care wil
 l be about ensuring that treatment isn't about the health professional's c
 are plan\, but is far more radical - it will take into account all the fac
 tors that make for a good and improving quality of life.\n\nThis includes 
 thinking about how to take account of all the issues that affect people's 
 mental health - issues like housing\, finance\, our physical surroundings 
 as well as what it means to be a valued member of a community.\n\nWe know 
 that experts with lived experience of health services are best placed to k
 now the issues that need to be addressed and what changes are crying out f
 or action. And above all\, they have the determination and expertise to le
 ad the changes they want to see.\n\nThe power of patient leadership in env
 isioning\, planning and managing a transformed mental health service is th
 e future\, and we really want you to be a part of that.\n\nBook here for
