THCVS would like to invite you to an Arts and Wellbeing networking event to support the development of potential partnerships and consortiums to bid for both borough and external opportunities.

The event will bring commissioners and voluntary sector organisations together to learn about:

- What underpins the commissioning approaches and the commissioning framework and timescales in the borough

- Opportunities to network with the Arts council  and  East End Community fund representatives

- Find out about the Tower Hamlets events fund

-  Network to find new partners with which to strengthen your commissioning offer

There will be opportunities to showcase the work of the voluntary and community sector. A mix of projects will be pitched, followed by an opportunity for you to ask questions, find out more from the people driving these ideas forward, and volunteer your support.

APPLY to give a three-minute pitch before Monday 10th September 2018.

We want to hear from Arts organisations and projects which are tackling a pressing Wellbeing challenges for the residents of Tower Hamlets using the arts.

The THCVS partnerships team will be happy to support you to develop a three-minute pitch.

Please note that this is a dynamic event structure and some parts are standing networking. If you have any access requirements or require any reasonable adjustments, please let the team know peter.vittles@thcvs.org.uk .

Let us know if you have any dietary requirements or severe allergies.

THCVS networking events are designed to make new connections in Tower Hamlets and enable us to showcase some of the most innovative Voluntary sector projects that are having a positive impact. Whether you’re looking to find out more about the THCVS, get involved with an exciting project, or to network with like-minded people, the networking event offers something for everyone.

What’s the format?

The event is a mix of three-minute project pitches and facilitated networking. Each pitch will finish with a call to action, asking the audience to share their skills and experience to help further their project. Between project pitches, there are short bursts of networking where you’ll be able to spark new connections and talk to the project pitchers about how you can support their work. The networking event is an interactive, at times standing event, though limited seating will be available.

Who can attend?

Our networking events are free to attend, but due to their popularity we ask that you please register in advance by following the ‘Register here ’ link at the top of the event page.

Some questions you may have about this event and whether it is right for you to attend

What do you mean by developing potential partnerships and consortiums?

Funders and commissioners are increasingly looking to commission services which bring together a number of different providers, who work closely together to deliver a service. There are benefits for commissioners to working through one organisation in a partnership than it is to work with many differnt partners who deliver similar services.

As funding is increasingly shifted from grant funding to commissioning, whether this is from the council or from funding bodies, it is likely to require a different approach by our sector. This will include, being aware of your groups specialist offer that would add value to a potential partnership or  consortium.

Why is it important to start thinking about these issues now?

Building partnerships and consortiums can take time, and the hardest part is thinking about and telling others exactly what it is you are good at and why people should partner with you. Our networking events provide this opportunity for you to start thinking through this process, and find the right partners for you and your organisation.

We look forward to working with you at the networking event.
